Shipping pet from Hong Kong to Canada

Today I have a customer who wants to ship a dog from Hong Kong to Vancouver. The relocation of pets worldwide can be demanding and complex, requiring detailed planning and sensitive handling. So I contacted a shipping agent in Vancouver. They will provide following service for import services:
arrange Canada Customs clearance
transfers to a domestic flight or international flight
meeting your pets upon arrival at the airport
direct delivery to your residence or boarding kennel
They can also provide excellent boarding facilities if customer are not immediately ready to receive your pets.
I also contacted airlines for shipping a pet. Price will be a bit affortable. But customer needs to do prepare all the Customs clearance. I am still working on the quotation with shipping agent. I will over rate in next post when I have more detail.

Meeting with Tamoda Apparel Inc

Here I am again.
Yesterday, I had client meeting with Tamoda Apparel which is is located in Vancouver, British Columbia Canada just 2 hours north of Seattle, Washington. This world class apparel manufacturing facility invests heavily in the latest apparel manufacturing technologies and is the leader in flat-seam sewing as well as gluing and welding in the application of zippers, and pockets. Implementation of the latest in technology, such as the Gerber Laser Cutter allows Tamoda’s North American facility to compete in a competitive global apparel sourcing market.
Actually, I was worked at Tamoda few years ago as Traffic Coordinator. During meeting, we discussed how my service to her them improve their business. I am trying to business from them as we have closed relationship. I hope I can provide them shipping business to carry fabric shipment from USA to Canada. However, they have shipment from China to USA. But I don't want to get all their business at once. Since I used to help them arrange fabric shipment, I think I will feel more comfortable to deal with their fabric shipment business in the first order. Tamoda mentioned about payment terms, they want to setup credit line with us. I think I will offer them 2 weeks credit terms for start. Once business pick up, we will offer them more flexibility terms.

Port and cruise ships keep Vancouver 2010 Olympic Winter Games green

Port Metro Vancouver will soon welcome cruise ships from Holland America Line, Carnival Cruise Lines and Norwegian Cruise Lines to Vancouver as they arrive to provide accommodation for tourists and security forces.
“We are very pleased to welcome our cruise industry partners back to Vancouver during this exciting lead-up to the 2010 Winter Games,” said Robin Silvester, Port Metro Vancouver’s President and Chief Executive Officer.
“Cruise ships have been used as floating accommodation in other sporting events such as the 2004 Summer Olympic Games in Greece. Working with the cruise lines, we believe we have developed probably the most stringent environmental requirements ever for an event like this anywhere in the world and we are pleased to be doing our part to ensure Vancouver hosts the greenest games possible.”
To make sure the highest possible air and water quality is maintained, environmental requirements include air emissions as well as liquid and solid waste. These requirements include:
Cruise ships must meet the equivalent air emissions reduction that would result from the use of fuels with low sulphur content. Further, as a commitment to a sustainable 2010 Winter Games, greenhouse gas emissions offsets are required for all land and water based sources of emissions associated with the accommodation vessels.
No discharges of any waste into the harbour.
Ships will be required to connect to Metro Vancouver’s sanitary sewer and pump barges to properly dispose of liquid waste.
Solid waste is required to be properly removed and disposed of; the use of ship board incinerators to dispose of solid waste will not be permitted.
“This is the first time ever that cruise ships have served as accommodation at a Winter Olympics,” said John Hansen, President of the North West CruiseShip Association. “We are proud of our participation. We are also proud of the high levels of environmental protection that we can achieve."
